Webster Groves Frisco Depot and Big Bend Railroad Club

Since 1938, shortly after the founding of the oldest model railroad club in the Saint Louis, Missouri area, the Big Bend Railroad Club has occupied a portion of the Frisco Railroad depot in Webster Groves, Missouri. In 1994 the model railroad club purchased the circa 1910 depot to save it from scheduled demolition. With donations from the monthly visitors who attend the scheduled open house, the club maintains and try to make improvements to the former railroad depot. As one of the last remaining two depots on the former St. Louis & San Francisco Railroad which once numbered about two dozen, the club constantly receives visitors not only from nearby communities, but also from other countries as far away as Australia and China. Only with outside help for substantial financial aid can the club complete some of the needed, expensive repairs to the depot. It is the hope of the club and its supporters that the building will be around for many more generations to enjoy.
