The Old Depot Museum

The Old Depot Museum located in Vicksburg, MS, houses three model railroad layouts (HO, N and O gauge) and a 250-square foot diorama of the Vicksburg Battlefield depicting the site as it looked in 1863. The diorama is manned by 2,300 miniature Confederate and Union soldiers and 250 ship models (covering riverboats, Civil War gunboats and U.S. Navy vessels named for people and places in Mississippi).

A model car collection of 150 models showing the evolution in motor travel is also on display. The film, "Vanishing Glory," that depicts the story of the Siege as told by the civilians and soldiers from their letters and diaries, can be watched as well. Numerous artifacts and paintings of river trail, rail trail and forty original paintings of the War of the Mississippi River are also on display at the museum.
