Originally built in 1850, with a major renovation in 1868, Strawberry Farm Bed and Breakfast has five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Make yourself at home in the dining room, living room, screen porch or retire to the privacy of your own room.

Each bedroom is thoughtfully decorated with guests in mind. Antiques, overstuffed chairs, writing tables and wonderful beds become your haven at Strawberry Farm Bed and Breakfast.

Breakfast is served until 11 a.m. in the dining room or in your bedroom (with prior arrangement), the full breakfast is always a healthy mixture of fresh fruit, homemade baked goods and a hot entree. Because we know everyone's tastes are not the same, we offer several daily menu suggestions from which to choose. Of course, you can always have fresh coffee or tea, milk and juice to start your day.

Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes

Strawberry Farm Bed and Breakfast is owned and operated by innkeepers Karl and Linda Eis Reichert. According to the Portrait and Biographical Album of Muscatine County, Iowa 1889, Karl's great grandfather, Henry G. Smith, moved from New York to Iowa in 1868 to engage in horticultural pursuits, including strawberry farming. Henry made extensive improvements to the property.

Five generations of Smith descendants have contributed to the rich sense of tradition and comfort built by Henry and his wife, Sarah. Good food, laughter and conversation have always been plentiful, which is why Karl and Linda decided to open the home's doors to guests as a bed and breakfast. They welcome you today just as Sarah and Henry would have 130 years ago.
