St. Landry Parish Visitor Center

The St. Landry Parish Visitor Center not only provides travelers information on the area, but it is one of the first visitor centers in the state and the southern region that has a focus on sustainability and green construction. The building was designed to show how sustainable practices, both old and new, can work together for the betterment of the region. The Center has won several architectural  awards and is conveniently located just off of Interstate 49 welcoming visitors to southwest Louisiana and St. Landry Parish.

The landscape design also plays a vital role in providing visitors with an overview of the numerous ecosystems found in this part of the United States. The use of native plantings adds another topic of discussion and enhances one's overall experience here at the Center.
