Located just minutes south of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, St. Gabriel Catholic Church is the oldest surviving church structure in the entire Mississippi River Valley. The facade is an extremely rare 18th Century French colonial church building, and the steeple of the church was a gift from the Queen of Spain in 1770. It is located on the Mississippi River Road in St. Gabriel, but is not open to the public.
