St. Bernard Cemetery

One of the oldest burial grounds in Louisiana, St. Bernard Cemetery has served as a final resting place since 1787. Consisting of mostly above ground plots, you will find familiar names of some of St. Bernard's oldest founding families, including Messa, Nunez, Villere, Beauregard, Serpas and Ducros. The centerpiece is an altar dedicated to twenty-three local soldiers who died during WWI, WWII, and the Korean Conflict.
