Saint Bernard Catholic Church

The first church was constructed in 1785, less than two years after the first Isleños settled the area, making it the first Catholic parish established below the city of New Orleans. The original building was repaired and replaced over the years, with a fire in 1916 destroying it beyond repair. The current church was built in 1925.
