Rock Island County Historical Society

Our Mission statement is: To study and learn, to collect and preserve, and to disseminate Rock Island County history. The Rock Island County Historical Society was incorporated in 1905 primarily as a repository of artifacts from the early days of the county. Since then, the mission has been to collect information about events in the county and genealogical information. 

The facility consists of a research library, a house/ museum, and a carriage house that holds vehicles and implements on the ground floor and a clothing collection on the second floor.

The research library has a photo collection, city directories dating from 1854 to present, files of articles organized by township, maps, and family genealogies, archival records.

Fees

$5 daily for a family or group, $30 annual membership
