Talent Show held at the Monticello High School Auditorium (5225 School Blvd). Admission is $4 for everyone. Featuring instrumental, vocal, dance, comedy, piano, and drama performed by individuals, groups, senior citizens, adults, and students.

FIREWORKS to follow the talent show at dusk.  Located between Eastview Elementary and Monticello High School

5K Run/Walk 8:30am:  Certified course starts and finishes at West Bridge Park at the intersection of River Street and Highway 25 near downtown Monticello. It is a flat, fast, out and back course. Refreshments provided after the race.  7:15am registration begins, registration $18 early-bird special includes t-shirt, $20 day of race includes t-shirt if available.

9:20am KIDS FUN RUN! No registration required. Meet at West Bridge Park behind the 5K finish area by 9:10 am and announcements will be made for each Kids Run at that point. Toddler Trot is approximately 250 Meters and Kids Run is approximately 700 Meters. You decide which run is most appropriate for your child. No age categories or official results.

8am-3pm Riverside Art in the Park/Taste of Monticello

Fine Arts & Crafts Show with over 65 displays selling handcrafted items and “Taste of Monticello” food and beverage vendors. Held outdoors at Ellison Park along the banks of the Mississippi River. Enjoy local entertainment while you shop, including Monticello Community Band from 1 to 3pm.

Children welcome.  Kids in the Park includes:
Train Rides and games
Face painting by the Monticello Royalty

This event is organized by the Monticello Chamber of Commerce

10:00am-3:30pm Annual Bean Bag Tournament

In Ellison Park, runs on the opposite end of the park during Art in the Park/Taste of Monticello.  Registration $30 per team. Register in advance or at 9 am on day of tournament.
Two person teams. You can have 1 alternate on your team.
Prize payout: $500 first place team; $200 second place team; $100 third place team.

5:30pm Street Dance

Evening activities take place in the Monticello Community Center parking lot starting at 5:30pm. Beer Garden will be on site. Concession Stand with food and beverages available. No outside food or beverages allowed.

6:00pm – 7:15pm
Live Music
Monticello High School All-Class Reunion – Graduates from 1908 to present are invited.

9am Community Worship Service in Ellison Park

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and find a spot in the shade. Enjoy the summer weather with this outdoor worship service in Ellison Park (811 E. River Street, Monticello, MN 55362) overlooking the Mississippi River. Service will be held at the far west side of the park.

12:30pm Riverfest Parade

The parade starts on 3rd Street at the Monticello American Legion Club and heads East to Walnut Street. Then it will take a right on Walnut Street and head South until 6th Street. The Parade takes a right on 6th Street and heads West to Minnesota Street where it turns South and ends on 7th Street. Parade units will end up on 7th Street West, near the area where they lined up.  The 4-H Club and the Sons of the American Legion will be passing out candy before the parade and accepting donations to the food shelf. Come early to reserve your spot on the parade route, and bring plenty of sun screen.

2pm-5:30pm Ellison Park Celebration to follow parade

Two shuttle buses will be provided from parade time until evening.

2:00-5:00pm Chicken Dinner
The Monticello Boy Scouts will be serving the traditional chicken dinner. New this year, the chicken dinner will be catered by Von Hanson’s Meats of Monticello. The food will be served from 2:00pm – 5:30pm.

Tickets are available at the park on Sunday:
Adult meal $7.00
Children 12 and under $5.00
Preschoolers are free with a paid adult

And so much more!
Other concessions include River dogs from Von Hansons’s Meats, snowcones, rootbeer floats, cookies and more.
CentraCare Wellness Van will be at the park.
Live Music 
Kids games for all ages including carnival games and inflatables.

4:00pm Citizen of the Year

4:30pm Monticello Royalty Coronation

3:00pm Duck Race

Duck Race on the Mississippi River. The drop happens at 3:30 pm on the Hwy 25 bridge. Watch the race from the banks of the river in Ellison Park. Winners announced at 5:00pm.

Cash Prizes totaling up to $10,000 (based on donations received) to include:
1st place – $2,500
2nd – 6th place – $1,000
7th – 29th –  $100
Last duck – $100
