Pontoon Slough Boat Landing - Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife & Fish Refuge - Winona District

You are guaranteed a chance to see a bald eagle. They perch above the river in the tops of the tall cottonwood trees and swoop down to snatch a fish from the river. You can see them anytime of year. March is migration time so you may see several.

The most active time for this boat landing is during waterfowl hunting season in the fall.

It is also a shoreline fishing area.
