Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival

Held annually during the 2nd weekend in April, the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival is nearly Louisiana's largest free festival, second only to Mardi Gras. The people of Ponchatoula roll out the red carpet for as many as 350,000 visitors each Spring. The draw? The scrumptious strawberries, live music, carnival rides, games, parade, and other entertainment.

The festival is known as a family friendly event which is held in the heart of Downtown Ponchatoula, a city of approximately 6,500 residents. The quaint atmosphere of Ponchatoula on a regular day exudes small town USA. Antique shops, boutiques, restaurants and cafes line the street of this historic district.  During the 2nd weekend in April, the town opens its doors and welcomes the masses. Food and craft vendors are dispersed throughout the entire city. Strawberry is King in Ponchatoula. Not only for a weekend, but year-round.
