The Perry County Archive Center is an archive quality repository of Perry County, Missouri of Perry County, Missouri records and documents previously housed in the attic, vault and basement of the courthouse. The archive currently holds records from 1821-1921 from the Circuit Clerk, Recorder of Deeds, Collector, Assessor, County Clerk, and County Commission. These are now permanent Perry County Records now more easily available for public research.
Research Library: The Perry County Historical Society Research Library has a vast amount of information concerning Perry County and its citizens. Using migration and immigration routes, we also have a wide selection of regional, state, and national resources associated with many Perry County ancestors.
The Library contains federal census records, marriage records, birth and death records, church records, cemetery tombstone listings, local newspaper excerpts and numerous family surname contributions. Researchers can trace their family heritage and explore Perry County's vibrant history and rich culture.
The Dohney Room: The Doheny room was originally created for Papal Countess Estelle Doheny. The room of French Roccoco style and 18th century chandeliers showcased her porcelain and crystal paperweight collection. Now, the Perry County Museum displays items bringing awareness to our rich heritage and culture. This room serves as a meeting room for our historical society and the community.
The Hours for the Library and Archive are Monday Mon-Tues-Thurs from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 and Wednesday Sept-Apr from 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. May-Aug 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
