Paddle Hoppers

Paddle Hoppers sits on the shore of the Mississippi river in down town Grand Rapids.  We offer hourly, half day and day kayak, canoe and standup paddle board (SUP) trips.

You will experience the beauty of seeing how the river, area lakes, our community and nature harmonize together.

Most people think you have to get out of town to see the beauty of being on the water but you don't. We offer a look at what is right outside our back door.

Areas of Service and Expertise

Paddle Hoppers offers one, two and four hour kayak, canoe and standup paddle board rentals right from their site on the Mississippi River, which sits on a slow moving, sheltered 3 mile stretch of river between the Pokegama Dam and the Blandin Paper Company.

We can take you up river to various drop spots on the Mississippi where you will paddle for a  half day or day before ending up back at the paddle shop (includes a short portage around the Pokegama dam). Paddling the river is unique in that you see homes, towns, and businesses as well as areas of quiet solitude where eagles soar above.

We will also be offering some day trips to local lakes that have paddling points of interest.

Types of Experiences and Trips Provided

You can chose to paddle a traditional canoe, single, double or fishing kayak or maybe the latest fad a standup paddle board.  We can provide and hour of relaxation over a lunch break or a day of family fun.

Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes

We are a family owned business since 2012. Chances are good you will meet Holli or her son if you stop in, or maybe a nephew or sisiter-in law.  No matter who's running the shop you are sure to see a friendly face. We grew up and live on our local lakes and rivers and take pride in passing on our passion for paddling to our community and visitors to the area.

Pet Friendly Notes

Paddle Hoppers believes pets are family to, so please feel free to bring your fury paddling partners along.
