North Mississippi Regional Park is situated behind the I-94 freeway wall in Minneapolis. Along with spectacular views of the Mississippi River it is a haven for wildlife with deer, beavers, eagles and hawks as well as a Great Blue Heron rookery visible on an island mid-river. A walking trail extends along the entire length of the park, winding through restored prairie and along the river’s shore. Bike trails link Webber Parkway and routes to downtown Minneapolis. The park also has a picnic area and shelters, a wading pool and playground, and a fishing pier and boat launch at the southern end of the park.
