Spanning the mighty Mississippi River, the Norbert F. Beckey Bridge in Muscatine, Iowais lighted every night. It is the only bridge over the Mississippi that has LED lights.
Completed in December 1972, it replaced the Muscatine High Bridge, which stood from 1891-1973. The bridge stretches 1,500 feet from Muscatine, Iowa to Rock Island County, Illinois. It's located on Iowa Highway 92 and Illinois Route 92.
The colorful displays vary depending on the occasion from red, white and blue for the Fourth of July to gold during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The bridge reflects the community's compassion and artistic spirit and is visible from Muscatine's historic downtown and its Riverside Park. It is particularly well-viewed from the trail in Muscatine which runs along the river.
