Newton Ridge Lodge is nestled on the top of a ridge overlooking beautiful Newton Valley in Vernon County. A spectacular view of the North Fork of the Bad Axe River winding through the valley greets our guests as they arrive. Each season brings a varied and beautiful landscape to enjoy.
There are many opportunities in the area to enjoy fishing, birding, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking and many other outdoor pursuits. Our rental has two bedrooms with queen beds and a comfortable sitting area. Maximum capacity is two to four persons. Rental is $135 per night with a minimum required two night stay.

We have Geothermal heating and air conditioning with LP gas as backup. We also recycle to minimize impact on the environment. Newton Ridge Lodge is owned by Jim and Cate Gitter who live on premise.

Newton Ridge Lodge is a complete log home located in rural Vernon County. The area is part of the Driftless section of Wisconsin.
The rental unit is located in the lower level of the log home. It walks out to the ridge overlooking the valley. There is a lovely patio to relax on and a fire pit that can be used for fires in the evening. It's a wonderful space to watch birds, listen to coyotes or owls and frogs in the evening. Indoors,there is a comfortable sitting area located between the two bedrooms in the rental unit.

Primary source of heating and cooling is via a geo thermal system. This system also heats supplemental water for the water heating system which is on demand.
Recycling is important to us so we ask our guests to recycle in the bins provided to them.

Jim and Cate Gitter live on site in the upper level of the log home. We are available to answer questions or to direct individuals to areas they are interested in visiting.
We moved to this area in 2014 after being visitors ourselves over more than 10 years to this area. We loved the area and enjoy sharing our knowledge of the area with our guests.
There are numerous stairs down to the rental unit so it is not accessible for individuals with wheelchairs or with physical limitations in accessing or using stairs.
