Mt. Zion Bike Trail

Mt. Zion Bike Trail

Named as one of Bike Magazine’s top 10 trails in the southeast USA in 2009, the Mt. Zion Bike Trail offers the opportunity to bike, hike, run, or stroll under a canopy of trees along a manicured trail of over eight miles over bridges, creeks, and around the pond. There is a pavilion and kiosk at the trailhead with a map and directions.

The Bike Trail hosts race #3 of the Mississippi Off Road Cycling Series with over 100 racers during the first weekend in May each year.

Dates and Times - Open 24/7 year-round.

Trail Directions - This is a multiple loop network of singletrack with challenging climbs and descents. A 2 mile beginner loop offers a good warmup with a few bridges and a bridge. There are over 20 wooden bridges and stunts on the 5+ mile intermediate loop. There is also a new Black Diamond section that will be open soon that features an 80' narrow curvy bridge, a 60' bridge that is 12 feet off the ground and only 22" wide, and a 20 foot ramp that launches you over a 10 foot wide creek jump.

There is a map at the trailhead and details can be found on the website mzbiketrail.wordpress.com
