If you like chili, you shouldn’t miss the Missouri State “Show Me” Chili Cook-off at Riverfront Park in Clarksville. This competition is sanctioned by the International Chili Society. Competitors start cooking early in the morning and will be making red, green and “Anything Goes” chili and salsa. Chili lovers can purchase sample cups after 11 a.m. for 50 cents apiece. Competition continues through the day with cash prizes awarded at a 5 p.m. ceremony. This is a serious competition that will send some on to the world championship.
In addition to chili there will be live music on the Mississippi River - perfect for dancing - and plenty of good food and drink provided by local and out of town vendors.
The Clarksville contest is sponsored locally by the Raintree Arts Council of Pike and Lincoln counties.
