Locally owned and operated Main Street Market is located in Vicksburg's most historic neighborhood. The 1840s building has brick floors and an eclectic mix of antique tables and chairs. Local artwork decorates the walls and vintage china lines the shelves. The menu features gourmet sandwiches, beautiful desserts and Creole specials.
Chris the owner/chef is originally from New Orleans. He and his wife Sally moved to her hometown to open the Market with her mother, Betty Bullard. The trio also operate the George Washington Ball Home across the street. Betty has been actively restoring properties in Vicksburg for years.
Main Street Market is the best "kept secret in Vicksburg," the regulars like to say. We brag that all our guests meet one of the owners and get the scoop on where to go and what to do. Whenever possible local ingredients are used. Chris has an herb garden beside the outdoor deck to season up dishes. Sally likes to know everyone by name. It is a throwback to cafes of old.
