Nicholls State University hosts the annual Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival on its campus in Thibodaux, LA.
The festival has been named one of March’s “Top 20 events in the Southeast” by the Southeast Tourism Society.
Visitors are invited to experience south Louisiana’s unique Cajun, Zydeco and Swamp Pop music, a variety of regional foods and presentations on local history, culture and economic development. Top cooks will perfect their roux at the annual Jumbo Gumbo Cook-Off. And you can burn off that gumbo at the annual 5K Can-Can and 1 Mile White Boot Waddle walk/run. There’s also a carnival, arts and crafts fair, and the Tresors du Bayou Educational Program, a popular attraction for thousands of primary and secondary school students.
