Linden Antebellum Bed & Breakfast

Linden is beautifully situated in a serene park-like seven acre setting. The quiet and beauty of our grounds leads you to believe you are out in the country, yet Linden is just 3 or 4 minutes from the center of downtown Natchez.

The two-tiered back gallery and two rear wings with their tables and chairs and rocking chairs create a wonderful restful, serene atmosphere in a secluded courtyard offering a pleasant view of the garden.

Linden is a fabulous study in architecture. Its center two-story structure was built circa 1790. In 1818 the new owner, Senator Thomas Reed, added an east wing. In 1829 Dr John Ker bought the property and made extensive additions and changes to the house. Dr Ker was from Germany, the national tree of his homeland is the Linden tree, so it was actually at this time the property became known as Linden. In 1849 Dr Ker sold Linden to Mrs Jane Conner , a widow with 13 children. Mrs Conner added the west wing to Linden in 1850. That same year she planted 7 Cedar of Lebanon trees in honor of her sons. Five of those trees still stand proudly in front of Linden.
