LaClare Manor Bed & Breakfast

Established in 2014 and located in the center of historic Prairie du Rocher, IL, this elegant home was completed in 1906 by local businessman and entrepreneur William H. Conner.  He wanted his home to be the first thing people saw when coming to town, so he placed the home in the middle of the original Main Street.  The new Main Street re-routed to the front of the house.  Although Mr. Conner did not live to enjoy his magnificent home, his widow raised six children alone here.

The original Victorian architecture remains intact.  The inside has been painstakingly restored to an early 20th century feel with all the 21st century amenities.

Come stay with us and enjoy the local charm and rich history of Prairie du Rocher!

Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes

Having been born and raised in Prairie du Rocher, it was important to us to preserve this beautiful home and restore it to it's former glory.  With my farming background and 38 years experience as a machinist, I was able to use my skills to complete most of the renovations myself.

My wife Cheryl, has an eye for decorating, and used her talents to enhance the mansions natural beauty with elegant wallpapers choices, as well as furnishings and fixtures that create a portal for the guests to feel as though they have been transported back to the Victorian era.

Accessibility Notes

Due to the historic nature of the home, and that is also serves as our private residence, we are not handicapped accessible.
