Historic Nauvoo Visitor Center

Step into the most modern building in Old Nauvoo to see a large diorama of the entire area; watch short video vignettes on screens next to exhibits; relax in the lobby; watch an informative movie in one of two comfortable theaters; get information about all activities available in Historic Nauvoo; reserve or pick up tickets for shows, and visit with guides who can answer your questions. Here you can learn about why Nauvoo is so important to the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Plan your visit to Nauvoo's historic sites with the help of guest services volunteers.

In the summer months, one of the theaters becomes a stage for the popular musical comedy The Promise that highlights the growing pains of a frontier city on the Mississippi. Romance and rivalry mix with a little religion and humor to make this a highlight of any summer visit. Free tickets are required and can be obtained by calling 217-577-2610.
