Historic Hixon House Museum

Have you got out of town visitors for the weekend? Kids home from school? If you need to entertain guests (or yourself) and need an activity that will engage all ages, consider a tour of the Historic Hixon House Museum. There is nothing else like it in La Crosse!

Hixon House is an historic house museum that can boast 90% of the original family furnishings still on display in its rooms. The house tells the story of one of the city's founding families, as well as being a treasure trove of original Aesthetic Movement and Arts and Crafts interior design. In 2005, a large restoration project was completed, bringing the house back to its 1910 glory.

Small group tours are conducted by knowledgeable docents, often in period dress. Don't let the ordinary facade fool you: inside, a magical trip back in time awaits you.

Historic Hixon House is owned and operated by the La Crosse County Historical Society. For more information, including our events calendar and how to become a member, visit our website, www.lchshistory.org.
