Historic Daniel Boone Home and Heritage Center

The legendary hero Daniel Boone spent the last years of his life in this beautiful stone home owned by his son, Nathan Boone.  The four-story Georgian-style house was built overlooking the Femme Osage Valley and is the centerpiece of Lindenwood University's Heritage Center.  The Daniel Boone Home and adjoining village offer a glimpse into what life was like for the Boone family and others living on the Missouri frontier.  The village is comprised of more than a dozen historic buildings moved from the local area and includes buildings such as a schoolhouse, carpenter shop, grist mill and the Old Peace Chapel.  The Historic Daniel Boone Home & Heritage Center is located in Defiance, Missouri, just ten beautiful miles from Interstate 64/40 and Hwy 94 in St. Charles County.  Guided tours daily.
