Downtown Charleston, Mo

With over 90% of the downtown area buildings dating back to the late 1800s to early 1900s, downtown Charleston is a treat to visit, if only for the architecture you'll see.  Boasting three Mesker Bros. storefronts, not only is the area full of architectural gems, but also interesting shops and even two museums.  The Hearnes Museum, established by Betty C Hearnes, former first lady of the state of Missouri and State of Mo Representative and the newly founded History of Charleston Museum.    Covered by a cantilevered porch system, the three block area provides year-round easy access and ample parking.

There are more shops. No dining can be found in the downtown area.
