For something quaint and utterly unique, the Delta Bohemian Guest House has a comfortable yet classically whimsical décor. If the eclectic art and colorful furnishings inside aren't captivating enough, guests can relax outside in the private, fenced backyard with a lovely garden, pond, picnic area and hammock which is shared with The White House. The DBGH is located on a quiet residential street.

The home was built in 1917 as the cook's house to the main house, now called The White House where guests can also rent rooms.

Bed and Breakfast Style

This is a 100 year old, 1,000 square foot home that was beautifully renovated in 2012 by the founders of The Delta Bohemian®, Madge and Billy Howell along with the MS Design Maven, Marilyn Trainor Storey. Delta Magazine featured the unique dwelling in their Ultimate Insider's Guide to the Mississippi Delta issue. Their headline states "The Delta Bohemian Guest House takes Clarksdale's artsy edge to new heights."

Guests who rent the Delta Bohemian Guest House enjoy use of the entire guest house which includes sharing the private, fenced-in back yard with The White House. The DBGH is an ideal, premium place to stay for a couple or for a small group of friends.

The Green Acres bedroom has a premium, pillow-top, king-size bed. The Delta Princess bedroom has a full and twin Tempur-pedic bunk bed. The two bedrooms share a common, upscale yet compact bathroom with a large, ceramic tile shower. Premium linens, towels, toiletries, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, alarm clocks, docking stations, and many other conveniences are provided.

The Kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer, stove, microwave, toaster, Keurig machine, french press, pots, pans, plates, silverware, glassware, etc. A welcoming Pabst Blue Ribbon beer awaits guests upon their arrival. A continental breakfast is provided.

The open kitchen has an eat-in dining table and open to the kitchen/dining area is a comfortable living room with two couches, chairs, a large flat-screen television with HD Uverse signal, and free WiFi. An extensive library of DVDs are provided for guests' enjoyment as well as a phonograph player with albums.

Parking is either in front of the home, in a pull-in area beside the home, or under the covered carport at The White House next door.

$165-425 - Elevated rates and minimum nights required during festivals. Rates are based on a two-person occupancy. The home can accommodate up to 4 adults with the additional two guests paying $40USD per person per night.

The Delta Bohemian Guest House is owned by Billy and Madge Marley Howell, founders of The Delta Bohemian®. The couple converted the historical guest house into a short-term accommodation in 2012.

Madge and Billy rent out Rooms in The White House and also provide DELTA BOHEMIAN TOURS for guests interested in learning more about Clarksdale and the Mississippi Delta. The excursions are led by Billy and each tour is customized to the interests of the traveler. 

Accessibility Notes

The DBGH is not wheelchair accessible. The DBGH is for individuals 13 years of age and above. Any deviation from this must be approved by the owners Madge and Billy Howell.

Pet Friendly Notes

No Pets allowed although the owners do have a Shih-poo dog named Dandy who is on the property from time to time.
