Cultural Hall

Visit the heart of Old Nauvoo's social life. Take a tour of the old entertainment site to learn about the types of performances early residents enjoyed; see historic quilts and dance on the original ballroom floor. In the summer, children delight in seeing Just Plain Anna Amanda, a short play about growing up and learning what it means to be important. Tickets are free but required due to limited seating; tickets may be reserved in advance by calling 217-577-2610.

Throughout the year, when other sites are closed for the evening, you can watch the Historic Nauvoo tour guides perform Rendezvous in Old Nauvoo, a free musical comedy about what it meant for Mormons to build Nauvoo and then face leaving it all behind. Laugh as the engaging actors tell Nauvoo's story through a number of vignettes. This performance is fun for all ages and a perfect way to end the day in Old Nauvoo.
