Vintage home built in 1900, named Captain's Quarters in memory of my late husband, Riverboat Captain Mark W. Peters, who piloted the paddlewheeler Hiawatha, on the Mississippi River and gave guided tours on Lake Pepin. This is how the 3 bedrooms, The Mississippi Room, The Lake Pepin Room and The Hiawatha Room, came to be named. It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, off the busy highways. We are located within a short walking distance of the downtown area; which has a wide selection of shops, eating establishments and bars. We are also located only minutes from the marina, the city's beautiful parks, and the exceptional lakeshore. If you are looking for a longer walk, with a view to boot; you can access the river walk. Starting downtown, the river walk extends north to south, following the breathtaking lake scenery along the entire walkway. Enjoy wine? Just a short drive away, try locally made wines at Lake Pepin Winery!

Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes
This home was purchased in 1987, by myself and my late husband Mark, both of us being life long residents of Lake City. After Mark died in 1995, our children and I remained here. Our home was always welcoming and to this day exudes a feeling of warmth. Even though I now live in a new home with my current husband Lyle, I chose to keep this home and along with Lyle, I continue to meet and welcome guests, share this house filled with memories and be a small part in helping others create new memories. It is our goal at Captain's Quarters to make you feel welcome, comforable, relaxed and at home. This has been very enjoyable for both Lyle and I.
