Bayou Teche Experience specializes in low-impact, eco-friendly tours by kayak and canoe only on Bayou Teche, Lake Martin and the Atchafalaya Basin. Centrally located right on the bayou next to the iconic bridge in historic downtown Breaux Bridge and close to Interstate 10, this Cajun Paddle outfitter serves the entire length of Bayou Teche, all of Lake Martin, and the central part of the Atchafalaya Basin.
Bayou Teche Experience wants the participant to really "experience" Cajun country with all its facets. Due to the quietness of travel by paddle, the participant will see the rich Louisiana wildlife including one of the largest concentrations of migratory birds in the world. In addition, there is the wonderful natural history and the unique flora and fauna of the swamp. An integral part of this tour experience is the Cajun heritage, history, culture, cuisine and music.
Bayou Teche Experience is the only Cajun Paddle outfitter in Acadiana, specializing in kayak & canoe rentals and tours with shuttle service. Open 7 days a week from dawn to dusk, an additional specialty are the sunrise, sunset and moonlight tours. Experienced guides cover a wide range of topics. A unique Cajun Heritage shop in the log cabin headquarters serves as information central and hub for tourists, locals and kayakers.
