Bayou Teche Brewing, working with the LSU Ag Center and Dr. Whitney Broussard of the University of Louisiana has developed a man-made artificial wetland to process their brewery waste. The multi-stage wetland harnesses native plants to absorb waste from the waters discharged from the brewery. The added benefit of this man made wetland has been the abundance of native wildlife - and waterfowl visiting the grounds of the brewery. A visit to the artificial wetland has been a highlight of tours to the brewery.
Hours Open1-5 Monday thru Saturday
Situated on family farm land on the banks of the Bayou Teche, the brewery is situated for canoes and Kayaks to stop and visit. Also a man-made artificial wetland allows the brewery to process all of its liquid waste in an environmentally responsible manner.
