Baxter's Vineyards & winery

Baxter's Vineyards & Winery, the oldest winery in the state of Illinois, is just one mile from the Mississippi River in Nauvoo. The establishment offers daily wine tasting, a self-guided winery tour along with a gift shop. Also housed on the property is The Wine Barrel, a full bar serving Baxter's Old Nauvoo Brand Wine along with various beers and spirits. 

In the fall of the year, Baxter's Vineyards also offers a you-pick apple orchard, peaches and fresh grapes.

Started by Emile & Annette Baxter in 1857, the winery is currently operated by their great, great grandson Kelly and his wife Brenda and their daughter Kim.
